Beautiful but neglected building from the 50s in the center of Plovdiv was purchased by a family who turned to us with a desire to preserve the original feel of the house, but at the same time to fully update its use.
The specific characteristic of the house – its brick facade, was one of the focuses of the project. It was decided that any constructive reinforcement will be done internally.
The ground floor from purely technical and for storage becomes a place to work – a home office, as well as a summer kitchen opening onto the garden.
The second, main floor was almost entirely changed by removing walls and structural strengthening: opening space between the living room and the kitchen, expanding the bathroom, and adding a new staircase to the attic.
The attic was raised with lightweight construction roof and changed from 4-sided to 2-sided pitch, making more optimal use of the space, thus two more bedrooms, bathroom and closet were added to the house.
